The Memorial Road corridor is rapidly becoming an entertainment destination in metro area. The company hopes to have the new Oklahoma City Main Event open sometime in 2015. “We think a lot of people in OKC shop and eat in Dallas on occasion and are familiar with our brand from our presence there.” “With Oklahoma City we feel like we have some brand equity in the market and that we will do well there,” Keegan said. A building permit filed with the city shows the new Main Event will cost $7.8 million to build. In January, Main Event purchased 5.6 acres of land just northwest of W Memorial Road and N Western Avenue for $2 million. The company has been looking to expand into Oklahoma for the past several years, said Main Event CEO Charlie Keegan. Dallas-based entertainment venue Main Event is coming to Oklahoma City with a new 58,000 square-foot venue just off Memorial Road that will feature bowling, laser tag, an aerial ropes course, games, restaurants and a full bar.
